[KI-LC] Kantara Support For A National Identity Verification Standard??

I think the announcement appended below, and the attached Call for
Participation, summarizes the issue. Essentially, NASPO wants to begin
work on developing an ANSI standard for identity verification ("identity
proofing") and is looking for financial support as well as people to
actively participate in the work. So the question for the BoT would be,
can Kantara make a contribution of $3K per year for this effort (the
amount for a trade association member), and if so, will someone be
available to participate in the work? If the answer is YES to the first
question, I'd presume that a Kantara member or participant would need to
volunteer to represent Kantara, and that this could be determined later.

Note: the Call for Participation asks for only a $1K contribution for a
"non-profit not representing any industry", but I think Kantara would be
closer to a trade association.

The main question right now is whether Kantara can financially support
the NASPO effort.

Let me know if you need more info.
